Minh Dang

A MSW/PhD student at UC Berkeley studying child abuse and trauma care, serves as a Board Member for local non-profit Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing, and facilitates Adult Survivors of Child Abuse support groups. Minh’s activities today are motivated by her past as a survivor of child abuse and child trafficking. After escaping her abusers recently, Minh has spoken at venues nationwide, inspiring university students, community leaders, faith-based communities, and others to take action on behalf of the vulnerable. Minh is a lover of loving, being, living social justice, dancing, singing, cooking, and picking flowers.

You eat sustainable food. You support green building. You recycle, compost, and buy local.

But what about sustainable people? The tie between fair trade and human rights? And how close it all is to home?

Come to The Slave Next Door, and hear inspiring speakers, meet local organizations, buy fair-trade products—and get ready to make justice personal.

The Project Peace Speaker Series is proud to host Dr. Kevin Bales, one of the world's leading experts on modern-day slavery, and local survivor, Minh Dang, for a night of information, inspiration, and action. No matter who you are, you can make a difference with one of the great moral callings of our time.
