Project Peace connects the resources of local churches with the needs of social service providers and agencies in Berkeley, Oakland, and surrounding areas.

Logo Description

Project Peace

Our logo, created by Mazzarello Media and Arts, invokes the feeling of opposites being brought together, that which is dark and distressed alongside that which is bright and clean. What Project Peace is setting out to do will stir up pain, but also joy as shown through tears and smiles. Restoration in general is a dirty, but beautiful process. Restoring God’s peace will be more dirty and more beautiful than we can possibly imagine.

Symbolism

The sun rays represent the dawn of a new day, a day of restoration, when Peace and Justice will reign. The oak tree serves as a universal symbol of justice and represents the process of growth over time. The tree also reminds us of interdependence: the roots, trunk and leaves working together as our goal is to work together to bring Peace.

Typography

Letter “P” represents both the words Project and Peace, like a stamp, it has an impact that is being made. The first word, Project, is distressed to represent the concept that it is not always easy, it can be a struggle and gritty. The second word, peace, is clean to remember that it is something pure and beautiful that we look and work towards, the restoration of God’s Shalom (Peace) on this earth.

Colors

Brown evokes the feeling of the earth and the very hands-on process. Blue represents the peaceful and serene, that which brings hope.
